New York Vocal Coaching Studio

Introduction: Clients of Stephen Purdy at the New York Vocal Coaching Studio have been cast in the Broadway and touring companies of virtually every major Broadway musical of the last decade including Wicked, Spamalot, Hairspray, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, The Lion King and Legally Blonde and are working at major regional theatres. Clients are also now singing on the major concert and operatic stages across the globe. Stephen Purdy has coached and taught many hundreds of singing actors in vocal and audition technique including multiple TONY and EMMY winners and has taught and coached at colleges and universities on three continents. As a musical director and conductor he has multiple Broadway, off-Broadway, National and European tours to his credit and hundreds of regional theatre productions. His educational background includes training at U of M (Voice and Piano), The Juilliard School and Westminster (MVP Voice and Pedagogy.) He is the author of the forthcoming book "Does this song make me look fat?" a book about song preparation and audition technique which is due in bookstores late next year.
