FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard rates are $15 for 15 minutes, $20 for 30 minutes and $40 for an hour. We're not out to price gouge, so discounts are available if you're getting multiple walks per day. We also offer a "Pay Up Front" option which provides a discount as well. Our rates are slightly higher than some providers. This allows us to offer the consistency of one provider per client, the flexibility to adjust walk times/days and accommodate last minute requests, the safety and security of walking one dog at a time and the convenience of not charging for last minute cancellations. The latter normally cancels out the slightly higher, cost per walk.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
* I am currently enrolled in the Animal Behavior College pursuing a certification in obedience training. * I am an MBA candidate at the Zicklin School of Business in Manhattan.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was laid off of my job marketing bands and records in the music business in the wake of the 2008 financial crash. I had always loved animals. I had always wanted a dog but never had the time. What better opportunity to scratch my canine itch?! When job offers started coming in, the idea of going back to an office seemed unbearable. Bosses wag their fingers at you when you walk in the room. Dogs wag their tails. The latter is a much better feeling. :) I saw a definite gap between the larger providers that were structured and consistent and the independent providers that had more of an intimate, family feel. I wanted to create something that was the best of both worlds. Detailed, highly structured and organized, yet extremely personal.
