Introduction: I am a person who can make the people around me feel at ease, and I use this to good advantage when photographing an event of any size. Even if the client needs just one-on-one photo work, the way I connect with people always contributes to the very best results. I love the interaction with people and the satisfaction of capturing the energy of the subject I am photographing.

Monty lends his photography services to Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York. Not only does he have a great eye for minute details, he is great at working up the crowd during our concerts. He is sophisticated, professional, personable and dependable. His artistic and creative background makes him a terrific photographer, and I'd strongly recommend him for any function where his skills are needed.

Summoners Ensemble Theatre (of which I am Executive Director) employed Monty Taylor as photographer for our production of A Christmas Carol. He took the photos of our benefit gala, which included both posed and candid shots of guests and organizers, and also our photo call for the production itself. Our space is a landmark home built in 1832 and lighting was a challenge, but Monty was up to it and turned in beautiful photographs that documented our events and were of great help in our social media campaign.

In December 2014, Association to Benefit Children (ABC) hired Monty Taylor to photograph its annual Holiday Skating Party at The Rink at Rockefeller Center. Monty, who is charming and personable, was able to perfectly capture the special spirit and of this magical benefit event, our 23rd annual, through his marvelous posed and candid pictures both on and off the ice. We could not have been more pleased.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I decided to incorporate my photography as a profession, because after camera outings and shoots my peers commented so favorably about my photos. I took a turn at professional work, and my first customers were immediately pleased with the way I handled their needs; including how I saw solutions and took initiative in capturing their events.
