I initially hired Maria to do some portraits and was extremely pleased with the results. She was on time, had fresh ideas and it was obvious from the beginning that she was an expert. All I had to do was smile. I was so impressed that I later asked her to be my tutor and teach me how to use my camera; I had bought a new one and had no idea how to use it. The manual was useless because I didn't know enough about photography to understand it. She put a tremendous amount of time into preparing each lesson (there were 10 one-hour sessions). She created detailed handouts, gave me constructive feedback, developed hands-on demonstrations and assigned challenging homework that forced me to demonstrate I understood the concepts. This was much more than I had expected; I was simply blown away by how seriously she took the job and how committed she was, all to my benefit. When I take a nice photo or appreciate one that someone else has taken, I am grateful for the 10 weeks that Maria was my tutor. I asked her to teach me how to use my camera; she taught me how to love photography at the same time. Working with her was great. She's super smart, engaging and fun to be around. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

Yes, I am constantly reading about new developments in the field and have to be current since I teach photography seminars in NYC.

I have been taking photos since I was 13 and started being hired to shoot photographs at around age 17.
