Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Simply because I do not settle for just treating the "spot that hurts" understanding that everything in the body is connected. This is more evident in chronic cases where one's nervous system has developed intelligent compensations over time. The problem arises when these compensations no longer work and one's quality of Life begins to suffer. Very few clinicians are able to understand the intimate relationships of the various bodily systems and how they integrate to allow for one to function. For example, if you have chronic low back pain, you most likely also have some degree of gut dysfunction such as constipation, loose stools, poor digestion, etc due to the visceral-somatic and somatic-visceral interconnections.

I have known Michael Jocson for over 10 years; in those years he has treated me for various physical issues, which stem from injury, physical/emotional stressors, and mind body (spiritual) connections. Michael's practice is eclectic in his approach, which means that you have to be "open," to the treatment he chooses on any given session that you have with him. He uses extensive years of training, expertise and intuition to read the BODY. He is a good listener and compassionate healer. He is not the typical practitioner; I actually would say he is far from it! Therefore, if you are open to healing, and willing to leave all your expectations outside the door, then when you have a session with Michael-healing will begin! Michael's sessions with me throughout these years have been a healing journey; he has taught me to make mind body connections that have helped my body to heal and now I live my life with mindfulness, awareness and most of all a stronger and healthier body.

I starting seeing Michael in 2011, the year I decided to train for the NYC marathon. My over ambitious training led me to debilitating injury smack in the middle of my training schedule. I had Achilles tendonitis in both legs! I decided to make an appointment to see a physical therapist, with much trepidation. I did not want to hear the words that other runners and trainers were telling me, “You must sit this one out. There will be another marathon next year”. Michael Jocson saw me for my appointment. He saw ME. Not just my ankles and calves, but he observed my entire body, my movement and my gait. He identified the problems with my biomechanics, addressed those issues first and then treated the injury. I was up and running in no time! Michael is one of the biggest reasons I was able to not only cross that marathon finish line, but finish with a time very close to my goal. I continue to see Michael for other issues. I recently suffered from medial tibial stress syndrome. After viewing my MRI, my orthopedic surgeon told me I would be down for 8 or more weeks. I had races to run and “ain’t nobody got time for that”! I went to see my trusty PT, Michael, and he had me running within 5 weeks! He rarely addressed my shin besides my dry needle treatments. He addressed the issues that caused the injury. Besides my over excessive pelvic rotation, weak gluteus and hips, and other biomechanical issues that Michael already knew about, Michael knew there was some other factor that caused my injury and he was going to find it! Well who would have thought that my tight neck and jaw was contributing to my injury! I followed Michael’s treatment and I’m back to racing! I’m even pulling faster race times than I did pre-injury! Michael is not your typical PT. He won’t just treat your injury, he will find the real issue causing your pain and put you on a plan to rectify the problem. I recommend Michael Jocson to all my friends and running team members.

Michael is extremely talented and skilled at what he does. I would still be suffering from severe neck and back pain if it weren't for him. He helped me tremendously and I would highly recommend him to anyone!!

I came to see Michael with chronic pain caused by years of postural misalignment and sports. I was at a point where I felt searing pain from lifting a 10 pound dumbell. After a couple of months with Michael, i was deadlifting over two hundred pounds, pain free. I consider this almost a miracle as I had resigned myself to a life of pain. I'm a trainer so I understand the workings of the body but through working with Michael I've realized how much there is still for me to learn. I look forward to a complete recovery though i know that the road won't be easy. Thank you Michael!

Michael has been amazing to work with on an upper back/shoulder injury. As opposed to just looking directly at the injury, Michael was able to diagnose a number of other factors that contributed to the causing of the injury and was able to provide treatment and exercises to help correct them. I was really happy with the care and precision with which he works also the results. I can't recommend him enough.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Relief from pain resulting from various causes where previous treatments have failed. Ability to solve some of the most complex chronic cases of neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction. Performance enhancement through improvement of body awareness and alignment and movement efficiency. Getting individuals back on their feet and being active as soon as possible to do whatever it is they want to do. Getting individuals back into the gym or back playing whatever sport they participate in.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are sick and tired of not feeling better despite seeking the traditional routes for care, don't lose Hope because there are a lot of clinicians who are also sick and tired of playing the game that which is healthcare in the United States and dare to step outside of the box to "change the Game". Seek a clinician that not only makes sense to you but can explain to you what they think is going on with your condition after performing a thorough evaluation and to provide an initial plan of action.
