To obtain variety in skills learned as well as to accommodate tastes, my students generally enjoy working on both classical and jazz selections, unless the student has a definite preference of one over the other. In most cases my beginner through intermediate students advance using Suzuki piano books for classical and Meir's series for jazz.
It's wonderful to be able to play the piano, and I love sharing that skill with others of all ages! It is so rewarding to see students become better and better musicians.
