FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most clients hire me because they're not satisfied with their or their child's grades in a particular subject. Parents may be concerned that their child is going down an academic path lower than their potential, without knowing what to do about it. My adult students are often returning to school and finally addressing subject areas they had trouble with their first time around. In all of these cases, I address the immediate content and grades right away, with the objective of building towards mastery over time.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is part of the tutor's job to adapt to each student's learning style. Don't hesitate to try more than one tutor before you find one you believe is a good match. At the same time, don't give up too soon; give each tutor at least two sessions to establish a rapport with the student.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I am a successful tutor because my students are successful learners! My approach is based on each student's strengths and aimed helping each one get to the point where he/she can take charge of his/her own learning. I sometimes wish the parents who say that I saved their child from failing or got him/her into college would give their child more credit.
