FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price is based on time spent with a client plus travel time. I typically cannot spend less than one hour with students, especially at the first meeting. If you are willing to travel to me, I can lower the price. Group classes offset the price, as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will take time to consider your needs. We'll talk on the phone and once we meet, I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire about your health. I also like to have a written record of all student/teacher interactions so I can be ready to teach the yoga class that best suits your needs. When I work one on one with students I leave them with a practice that they can try on their own. If we see each other a second time, I will always know the history of our meetings together through this written record.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in Education and extensive training in Yoga and Meditation. My training took place before the current certification system, but far exceeds the 500 hours offered by YTA. I have do have a 200 hour certification from Kripalu, and was the first person to complete their mentor program. I completed many other programs at Kripalu and I have studied Iyengar and Vini yoga in the U.S. and in India at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai. I completed several programs in therapeutic yoga that I can provide on request.
