FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Vocal Diagnostics - finding "problem areas" in the voice, and implementing ways to fix those areas permanently through a healthy technique, and also a healthy understanding of that technique so that the student, hopefully, can diagnose on their own during performance or warmups. Vocal Awareness - engaging in discussion with the student during various phases of the warmup so that way they are fully aware of their voice at all times. Repertoire Coaching - the last 20 minutes of an hour-long lesson are generally geared towards applying the techniques and concepts learned in the first 40 towards performance and song. Using the lyrics to strategize around vowels and the vocal range of the piece are common problem areas that are often addressed.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My background in education help me to set up a highly individualized approach that scaffolds each lesson to the next. I don't just put a "band-aid" to the vocal situation. I diagnose, implement strategies, and reassess so that way each lesson builds on the next. This approach towards singing, I believe, is greatly important for overall health, and success.
