Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your due diligence. There are lots of web marketing solution providers out on the market who offer a variety of services. Contact a variety that you think would be a good match for your business and request proposals. Web design firms that do a lot to earn your business, will most likely do a good job after they have earned it as well.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. From a customer's point of view, it's important to know what a website's goal is. Many are concerned with the look and feel of the site. While a pretty website is good, a website that delivers leads or dollars to your bottom line is even better.
If your web designer is talking more about how flashy and "fun" the website is, maybe its time to look else where. Focus in on creating a well-optimized site, that is easy to use and helps converts visitors into customers.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. When choosing a web designer, there a few questions you can ask to ensure you are hiring the right provider for you.

1 - In addition to paying for the site, what else do I need to pay for? Does the contract include updates, maintenance, hosting, etc...

2 - What type of content management system do you build websites with? Updating simple content on your website yourself will save you hundreds (if not thousands of dollars in the future.)

3 - How can I tell if my website is doing well? Make sure your web provider sets you up with a good analytics package on your site and walks through what the key performance indicators are.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The more you have thought about what he focus of your website should be before you start looking for a designer, the better. When speaking with designers, be prepared with a budget, what functions you want in the site, some sample websites that you like and want to model the site after and finally a timeline. These will ensure an accurate and timely quote.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. While most web design companies focus on aesthetics, I strongly believe that a website is only as good as the amount of customers it is bringing your business. A strong focus on goals and analytics should come first.
