- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kristina won the prestigious title of US Rising Star Latin American Champion in 2005, Blackpool Dance Festival Semi-Finalist in the International Rising Star Division, ELSA International Rising Star Finalist, and has represented the US in many international dance events. She has performed on some of the world’s most famous stages such as the Royal Albert Hall, England; Cairo Opera House, Egypt; Alexandria Opera House, Egypt; Beijing Dance Academy, China; BBKing’s Times Square NYC, among others. Kristina has trained with the world’s top coaches in Ballroom & Latin Dance. Kristina cross-trained in Ballet, Jazz, Flamenco, Brazilian Samba, Salsa, Hustle, Belly Dance, Bollywood and African Dance with NYC best professionals. Besides competing and performing, Kristina founded and operated The Ball NY Dance Studios ~ NYC’s Premier Latin & Ballroom Dance Studios ~ located in the heart of NYC’s famed Fashion District. Post-pandemic Kristina teaches in several locations in Manhattan and Jersey City and is willing to travel to a location of you choice.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
🇧🇬 Kristina started dancing Ballet at the age of four in her native Sofia, Bulgaria and discovered Ballroom Dance at the age of 12. By the age of 16, Kristina was Bulgarian Vice-Champion and a National representative to European and World Cups. 🇺🇸 Upon relocating to the US, Kristina committed to a professional carreer as a competitive Ballroom Dancer and started an intense training that lasted more than 10 years. 🥇 As a result of her passion, perseverance and dedication to Dance, Kristina and her Dance Partner won the National Rising Star Championship (2005) 🗽2011-2018 Kristina founded and operated one of the largest Ballroom Dance studios in the Tri-State area, home-base to National and World Champions.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am currently teaching Wedding amd Social Dance in Manhattan and Jersey city. I have an ongoing group class for little dancers who have just learned how to walk and convinced an adult to join them 🩰💃🏻🕺 My children’s program is a 16 months ~ a Pioneer Dance Program developed as a hybrid between Ballet and Ballroom and is suitable for children who have already l learned how to walk and their Caregivers. I am also coaching adult and children competitors in preparation for their DanceSport events, Every time I step on the dance floor, time stops, and I’d like to be able to share this miracle with as many people I can.
