Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. To be willing to look deeper into the health issue that brought you to see me. Every cause of an injury or illness has a deeper origin than the symptom you are experiencing. In order to achieve lasting results, you need to be willing to go deeper in your healing process in order to experience the necessary release and healing you desire. Part of my work is to provide that avenue for healing in the Reiki sessions I offer.

I would also advise you to come in with a clear intention of what you would like to get out of the session. A deep down desire for the best possible outcome is an important part of getting the results you want.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Try to find others who have seen that practitioner and ask them about their experiences.

Some questions might include:

Did the Reiki practitioner behave in a professional manner? Do they appear to be discreet? Did you feel in any way uncomfortable before, during or after the session?

Did they do any clearing work in addition to sending Reiki energy?

Did they seek to get at the source of the health issue?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My interest and concern for each individual and the time I take to talk to them about their issues and questions before and after their session.

I'm also unique in the clearing work I do during my sessions. I seek to remove the energetic causes of the health problems from their energy field. Few Reiki practitioners focus on doing this.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I enjoy the most is seeing the difference in the client's appearance and demeanor after a Reiki session. There is no greater reward for me than being able to play a part in someone else's healing experience!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "Do clients ever disrobe to receive Reiki?"
No. Reiki is done with the client laying down on a massage table, fully clothed.

"Where do you put your hands on the client's body?"
Common hand placements include the head, neck, shoulders, back, chest/heart area on men (heart area on the back for women), solar plexus, belly, hips, legs, knees and feet. Hand placements never include the genitals or breast tissues.

"Do you ever feel drained of your energy during a Reiki session?"
No. The Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for the Reiki energy to pass through them and into the client. Sometimes the Reiki practitioner can feel as rejuvenated as the client at the end of a Reiki session.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I do a lot of advanced preparation prior to a Reiki session. I see Reiki as an opportunity for healing on many levels. To help make this a reality, I dowse and intuit prior to a session to learn about what additional steps I can take to increase the potential for the best healing experience possible for my client.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was at my Grandmother's bedside during the days leading up to her passing. She was unable to open her eyes or communicate but I found myself being very aware of her needs and wishes. Prior to that time I did not consider myself to be an intuitive individual, but I found myself feeling and experiencing things I had no logical way to explain. It was immediately after her passing that I found myself guided to learn more about energy work and Reiki.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. I charge $60 for a 60-minute session. For best results I recommend at least 3 sessions at a discounted rate of $155. There is an additional travel fee if I come to your home.

If you are a new client and you schedule your Reiki session through Thumbtack.com, you'll receive half off your first Reiki session!

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength is my patience. Every individual is unique and has their own timetable for releasing and healing. It's important to have patience with their process.
