Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Have an idea of what your trying to accomplish in the end. 90% of our clients systems are phased over years. It can just be wholes house audio to getting an email when your child returns home safely, or going online to see if you left the oven on.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Audio Video Invasion is a well established Audio / Video / Control firm that is prestigious in our field and service the highest-end of clients. Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What trends have you observed over the past year in home theater design?

There are a couple of trends that we are seeing gaining momentum this year. Below I will list them with some back-round information:

The 2:35:1 Aspect ratio projection screens and anamorphic lenses that enable your projector to display movie content on the projection screen in the format that it was filmed as well as the way it was meant to be viewed. Over 70% of all major motion pictures are shot in the wider cinematic aspect

-ratio of approximately 2:35:1. By projecting in 16:9 (common wide-screen aspect ratio) the films are compressed to fit the screen which results to two black letterbox bars at the top and bottom of the screen (I am sure everyone has noticed those!) By projecting the film in the original format that it was filmed the bars go away and a more cinematic experience is achieved.

Streaming media would have to be the biggest trend in my view this past year. Bluray players with Netflix, block buster, google, facebook etc. on board have brought the internet closer to the home theater experience and about 85% of our installations currently provide the home owner with the ability to select, catalog and stream the movie of their choice onto their big screen at home. I believe that this trend will continue way into the future and eventually there will be no need for purchasing media in any store physically but

-just select it on your home theater screen and it will be available to you.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What types of designs/facilities are increasing? What types are decreasing? (i.e., family rooms versus dedicated home theaters)

The Den-Family Room home theater is still at the forefront of every initial system design as it has been for over a decade. The one design element that is increasing rapidly is the media room implementation in place of a dedicated theater. More and more people that are designing their basement recreational areas are opting for the projection screen and surround sound to be in an open area where people can casually hang out, shoot some pool or lounge on a big sofa in a unified environment with a large projection screen. When there is no company to be entertained, the same area can act as a dedicated theater in a way with a slight sacrifice on the acoustics of the space. I believe that dedicated theaters will still continue to exist because of their intimate setting but more and more will give way to a media room design in the future.
