FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My brother and I have had a lot of training outside of just being in the field. This separates us from the average painting company because not many of us have come up thru the painters union. We did a true apprenticeship under a master painter for many years while attending school 3 nights a week for almost 4 years. I wouldn't trade it for anything because I learned how products work. And why certain products are used and most importantly how to apply them. Technique is very very important..when you are taught by a schooled professional it sets you apart from the self taught painter that learned as mistakes were made.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We do a lot of everything. Rarely are we on the same type of job from week to week.I love it this way, because it keeps everyone's skills at a high level
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently we completed a 10,000 square foot home for a very demanding customer with extremely high expectations. These are my favorite customers to work for because you know exactly what to deliver. Often on jobs there will be some detail items a customer is not giving much attention and when we question it they may not care the color or the finish of the specific detail and then in the end they are not happy with it because it deserved more attention . This type of customer is the opposite..I always say in the end the only thing that matters is the little details, and when every inch of a home is gone over and the proper finish has been applied to absolutely every square inch of the home what you get is a show piece. You can literally take a picture of any room from any angle and put it in any home magazine and it fits right in. These jobs are not truly appreciated by the customer until they live in it for a few years. Only then will they appreciate and see that every inch of their home has received our full attention. The bottom edges of window trim has been caulked and painted. The inside back edges of closet shelving has had every finish applied to it. Only then will they see how a proper professional painted home performs over the years to come. These are rare in our area. Because not many people are building homes that big. But I say that as we are starting a third one in a year.
