I quite accidentally stumbled upon Nancy Korngold's name as I was searching for a therapist. Turns out based on my needs she was exactly the right fit for me. I was struggling with guilt over leaving an alcoholic partner and her specialty is dealing the addicts and their families, among other things. I admired how she dealt with my issues and how well she explained the disease of addiction to me. Not only did she help me in handling the guilt and loss I was feeling over walking away from a 3 1/2 year relationship, but she also helped me uncover things about myself and a previous loss that I had not yet come to terms with.
Her questions and comments to me were insightful and thought-provoking. On occasion she had me do "homework" and pushed me to go outside my comfort zone.
From the start I felt comfortable talking to her...things just came...sometimes with tears, sometimes with laughter, and she always handled them with a caring and compassionate manner. And on occasion she was tough with me when I probably needed it and forced me to confront myself instead of placing blame on others.
I think she is a wonderful therapist and would recommend her to anyone who needs to talk and face up to their fears.
I cannot say enough good things about her.
