Question and answer
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Buyers should be able to give me accurate details regarding all aspects of the image retouching project. What is the original media (slide, photo print, digital photo, drawing, etc.)? What size print do you want? How damaged is the original?
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My work stands out because I have digitally-retouched and restored images of world-renowned archives, including: Time LIFE, The Associated Press, National Geographic, George Eastman House and The National Archives of the United States. Photographs and illustrations that I retouched have been sold at many well-known retailers, including: Wal-Mart, Target, HomeGoods, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Barnes & Noble. In addition, I retouched a number of iconic photographs (from the collections mentioned above) that sold in galleries in the United States and Europe.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I like the fact that as long as I have a computer and internet connection, I can get work done anywhere. My job also allows me to have flexibility in my schedule.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I had to restore and reproduce a 18x28" print for a local college. To do this, I scanned the print in 14 individual pieces (on a relatively small scanner), merged them in Adobe Photoshop and improved the color and contrast of the final image.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. My continuing education is the internet. By "Googling" any keyword/keyword phrase related to my field, I can find anything I need.
