Are you looking for an experienced and compassionate tutor who appreciate the human side of learning besides the academic side of it?
Is someone in your family struggling to learn concepts and/or applications due to teaching that does not match their learning style and a personalized approach would help? Or are you an adult trying to pass a standardized test, including the teacher certification tests, and need help from someone with a proven success record? Or perhaps you want to master a skill on the computer?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, let me help you to your own shining success stories.
I am a certified teacher in New York State, as well as a teacher trainer. My experience includes tutoring children, including those with learning differences and young adults for around ten years. I also have extensive experience in IT and supporting adults in learning how to use computers.
My students consistently make progress and succeed measurably with my help. My location is in upper Westchester County, but I can travel to you or to another meeting point. I offer online tutoring as well.
Question and answer
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Most of my business grows by word of mouth because parents like how I tutor so much that they tell their friends and communities. I am well known throughout the Westchester homeschooling community, and many people who want to enhance their children's academic performance beyond public school standards are hiring me as well.
My work is based on sound pedagogy, with years of classroom experience and knowledge of education research. The most important thing to me, though, is the relationship with my students and helping them to succeed.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. What makes Singapore Math different from other math programs?
Three main points differentiate it:
1) It teaches from conceptual to abstract, meaning students understand why a procedure works before being taught the algorithm.
2) It is built upon the learning process that goes from concrete to pictorial to abstract, which makes learning math meaningful.
3) Problem solving it at its core. The model drawing method makes solving word problems much clearer and more intuitive.
