Introduction: Hi! My name is Jessica. I have been writing and editing resumes for 15 plus years. I had the joy of spending a few years teaching a post secondary level class the hiring process, from creating their resumes all the way up to getting the job, and I maintained a hire rate of above 80% for my students. Resumes are such an important tool. They're the beginning of your job interview, the company's first impression of who you are and why they should hire you. And yet so often, resumes are made without the full resources and information required to stand out. The specific wording (and keywords) your industry needs and, just as important, the formatting and style that makes your potential employer actually want to read it. So hiring me isn't just hiring someone to type your information out for you. It's hiring someone who will research your field, research the specific company you want to work for if there is one, and get to know you as a person. I will find the perfect format for your resume based on your personal and professional needs. I will create the tool that opens the door. Sound like something you're looking for? Our first conversation will answer any questions you have about me, and then if you want to go ahead, you'll email me any old information or resumes you have. Sometime in the next couple days, depending on our availability matching up, we will set up a phone call to talk through everything. I will have written out my suggestions, as well as questions I have for you to fill in information gaps. After this I will be able to begin constructing your resume, and send you a rough draft that we can edit together. No matter how many emails, phone calls, or texts it takes, I am dedicated to making your job transition (and the documents it requires) the experience you want it to be. So reach out! Let's talk.
