Introduction: The wedding ceremony shouldn't be the thing that you and your guests have to suffer through to get to the good part. I promise you a meaningful, enjoyable ceremony that everyone will remember for years to come. I offer everything from fully custom-written ceremonies to the simple signing of a marriage license. My website has many samples of my writing style. There are civil, religious and multicultural samples, readings, marriage license, name change information, and the FAQ page has more answers than any one couple has ever asked. I had the pleasure of "meeting" Rev. April over the internet back in June 2007 when I was researching officiants for my planned July wedding in NYC. Within moments of requesting information she called me and I could tell from the very beginning that she was "the one" for us! She was warm and inviting and her laughter was contagious. We were soon talking like we were old friends. Rev. April made suggestions as to the content of the ceremony and within hours I had a sample ceremony. In the end, we made very few changes--only to add our children into the ceremony in some form. That was a nice touch! On our VERY hot and humid wedding day (which happened to be her birthday!) she met us and our families in Central Park and was just as we expected. Friendly, professional and quite capable of corralling our families to get the ball rolling! We trusted her to find the perfect place for us in the park and she certainly did! It was peaceful and secluded and the most wonderful place to start our lives off together "officially". Rev. April's ability to speak the words we felt in our hearts was amazing. Her delivery was flawless and all of our guests complimented her ceremony. Afterward, she processed our paperwork most efficiently and she has remained connected to our family ever since. She was the best officiant we could have asked for and we highly recommend her services to ANY one seeking to make their wedding day even more special!

There are so many positive things to say about Pastor April that it's difficult to know where to begin. From the moment I first met her, I absolutely knew that she was the person that I wanted to be my Wedding Officiant. She greeted me with such a smile that I felt like I was seeing a long lost friend after numerous years. She truly wants to get to know each of her couples, not only so that she can put together the most memorable ceremony that you could ever ask for, but also because she cares about each of her couples on such a deep, personal level. Some people know their true calling in life, and Pastor April was meant to be a Wedding Officiant, Her love and caring ways will reflect in the ceremony that she will perform for you.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All fees are based on real time. 15 minutes in my living room mid week is where I start and I do everything including destination weddings. Most are somewhere in between. The Fees Page of my web site has more details. churchofancientways.org/fees.html
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My couples vary greatly in their needs. The first thing we do is establish what the couple wants me to do for them. Some want to come over for a simple signing of the marriage license. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This is a great question. No formal training has given me anything as valuable as the over 3,000 ceremonies I have performed since 1997. There is no substitute for experience.
