Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Please be prepared to meet in person with an attorney. When you call and ask for advice on the telephone, it indicates that you are not interested in actually hiring the attorney. You may get advice, but can you trust that you have the full attention of the person you are speaking with? Look them in the eye and see if they are the one you want to handle your legal matter. Remember, you value what you pay for more than what you get for free.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Why don't attorneys take small cases? It is usually because the rate at which attorneys need to charge to make a reasonable living is usually more than any small case. Also, attorneys generally don't do the least amount of work for fear of malpractice claims.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. What is your rate? What types of services, actions, etc. will I be paying you to undertake? Do you make any guarantees as to the outcome? (If they are making a guarantee, you need to meet with another attorney)
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Buyers of legal services need to know whether or not they are serious about their business and personal legal matters. Just asking questions over the telephone does not demonstrate that you are serious about your legal matters. Face to face meetings are needed to really show you want your problems solved. Don't be complacent.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I will not tell you anything but the truth. If you want me to tell you lies, you need to find another attorney.
You must take ownership of your life and legal matters. I will force you to acknowledge your role in your legal problem and make sure that you never fall into the legal abyss again.
Finally, my role is to make sure that your rights are protected. I cannot live your life but I can try hard to make sure you have a good life to live.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I really enjoy my work. I get the chance to make sure you get a fair chance in the legal system. I get to work with a multitude of people in different places. These chances to better the lot of others make me feel as if I can make a difference.
It is nice to receive compliments from clients for whom I have provided a real service in which their lives are made peaceful.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. MY favorite stories always wind up the same way. My clients' lives are bettered by my service. They win an acquittal in a trial for a criminal charge; they get their children out of the clutches of Children Services; they get the right to use their property without interference from others; they got their family member into the US...
The list is always full of success stories.
