Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Common Repairs: Leaking roofs, hot water heaters, exterior wood trim replacement, grout and chaulk replacement
Upgrades: Bath room and kitchen updates, decks, painting, and Basement remodeling.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would like to understand how project costs are estimated.
The second would be how to eliminate fly by night people claiming to be contractors. There are three things I would advise anybody on selecting a contractor. 1.) Never give a contractor 100% of the project cost up front. 2.) Realize that there will be a % (usually %50 up front) to cover material and cost of doing the project. 3.) A small tip on minimizing your cash risk is to request a phone sale with the material supplier. This will eliminate the contractor from the material purchase, but still provide the materials to accomplish the job. This will also allow you to see directly what the materials cost. Doing this will force the contractor to give detailed estimates.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Customer intereaction ensures that the project will be what the client envisions. And we are not satified until you are. Couple that with quality and great pricing and we can't be beat.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Working with clients that have different individual ideas. The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction when a job exceeds a clients expectations.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question (and it has many forms) has to be, what value am I getting for my investment.
Answer: Simple and direct information on what the clients project will cost based on customer taste and budget.
