    Not only did Thompson Entertainment do a great job Larry over exceeded our expectations. We had a 21st celebration party for our daughter who would of been 21 on June third. She was killed in a car tragedy in Oct. Larry and the group done such a great job before during and after the event....I have to rate this company out of 5 stars a 10.......

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We perform at all types of events including but not limited to; Weddings, School Dances, Reunions, Car Shows, Birthday Celebrations, Corporate Functions and Holiday Parties. Often, we find ourselves, also providing music during the Ceremony for Weddings. We'll work with you to create a custom list of entrance songs that's right for you!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Remember that the DJ/MC is responsible for a large portion of your events success, so you'll want someone with experience. Each event requires experience even if you do not have any special dances or formalities. For example; at a birthday celebration for a 9-year old, there may only be a singing of happy birthday and that's it. The rest of the time is just music. However, the DJ will need to have experience and know what to play (at what time) and what not to play. Playing the wrong music can not only offend your guests but make you second-think your decision on hiring that DJ/MC. Another example is a Wedding. We are talking about a big difference between a 9-year old party & a Wedding but experience is so important and we cannot stress it enough. A DJ that has done a "handful" of Weddings is not an experienced DJ. An experienced DJ, specializes in Wedding entertainment and has knowledge of the duties and responsibilties that he/she will be handling. If you hear "handful" that is an automatic red check mark!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Some of the most important questions to ask your prospective DJ/MC is about their experience, if they have performed at the Venue previously and if they are insured.

Experience: If your DJ/MC has been the Venue for a previous event, he/she is already familiar with what door to enter in/out of and where to setup. Also, it eliminates the possibility of your DJ/MC "getting lost and giving up" thus resulting in you not having a DJ for your event because the DJ/MC could not locate your Venue or no one was there to "greet" them and show them the setup area. If you cannot be there when we arrive, we will proceed into setting up and when you do arrive, we are happy to greet you and answer any questions you have.

History at the Venue: Many venues have their own in-house catering and many of those caterers get attached to the way certain DJ's handle events during the dinner hour. If they do not like the way a DJ handles an event, they will not recommend them. A caterer is another great reference for you to check out when considering to hire a DJ/MC.

Insurance? Most venues today, will not allow a DJ to set foot onto the property with their equipment without a copy of their Insurance certificate. The reasons are obvious. If the DJ's wiring causes a fire or if a speaker loses it's balance and puts a dent or hole in a wall, it will need to be corrected in time for the next event. If your DJ/MC is not insured, you may find yourself responsible since you "hand-picked" your own DJ. Thompson Entertainment is FULLY-INSURED taking all responsibility all of you.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We are proud members of the American Disc Jockey Association, American Karaoke Jockey Association, Global Mobile Entertainers Association & the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. Our continuing education is confined into these organizations and we network and participate in seminars offered by these organizations to keep up with current times and provide the best service to our past, present & future client base.
