Come and dance at your WHYM -- an exquisite ballroom dance studio in Cleveland, OH. We feature instructors with professional dance teaching degrees and life-long experience in teaching and dancing.

Our goal is to foster a fun learning environment for dancers of all levels and ages.

We teach private and group ballroom and Latin dance lessons, cardio dance fitness classes, host social dance parties, and provide professional dance entertainment.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for experience and quality of teaching. When comparing prices, look carefully at lesson durations. Many studios teach 30 or 45-minute lessons. At WHYM our lessons are 55 minutes long and we include our weekly group dance classes and parties for free when you purchase a package of private lessons.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish I knew why some studios do not publish their lesson prices on their websites. Ask questions and compare not only prices, but lesson durations and teacher qualifications

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What is your teaching philosophy? Are the teachers focused on teaching dance patterns by the book or are they teaching how to dance - principals that when applied, make dance a quick and fun learning experience?
What is the experience of the teachers? Many teachers are very young and teach by utilizing industry-defined foot patterns. Many are not able to modify their approach to the customer's desire and abilities.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Quality of teaching is our primary focus. Call or email us and we would love to provide references from our current and past customers.

    I've been to several dance studios in the Cleveland area, and I can say without a doubt that WHYM is the absolute best. Ilia and Maria Volokh, the owners, are absolutely phenomenal teachers whatever level of dancing ability you have. I compete at the collegiate level, and working with them this summer has truly transformed my dancing. Even if you don't compete, you absolutely will become a better dancer if you go to this studio and really listen to what they teach. They are the best instructors for social dancing I have ever met. Ilia knows how to teach guys to really lead and teach girls how to really follow, a trait that is rare and difficult to find in studios in the area.

    And as an added plus, the dance floor in the studio, which Ilia installed himself, is the best dance floor I have ever stepped foot on. The ambience of the entire place is absolutely flawless as well. The entire experience of going to WHYM for dance lessons is absolutely phenomenal.

    Their prices for private lessons may at first appear higher than other studios in the area, but if you actually do the math based on the instruction time, you get more time for your money at WHYM than comparable studios in the area. Add in free attendance at group classes on top of that (a perk that other studios do not generally offer) and the simply superior quality of their instruction, and WHYM also becomes the best value in the area for dance instruction.

    If you want to learn ballroom dancing and live within 30 miles of Chagrin Falls, you simply have to go to WHYM. It's worth the drive!

    I met Maria and the Whym group 1 1/2 years ago. They are the best instructors and fun group that I have encountered in my ballroom days. Her professional and fun attitude is infectious. I always look forward to the group activities at Whym - you can never say that you didn't have a good time!
