Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Our customers often call us with projects because they know they want to solve a problem (add space, fix something they don't like) but they often don't know exactly how to describe the scope of the project. We do renovation projects all of the time, but you may have never done a renovation project similar to your project. We have a designer and a decorator available to help inspire ideas and to listen to your vision so you can be confident in the design before construction begins. We are fortunate to work in an industry where everyday we can see the results of our work. It is very satisfying to work with a customer on a project design and see the finished results. It is important to our company culture that all of our team members share this passion for their work to keep working enjoyable for all of us and to help maintain a level of quality that the Atlas Home Group brand is known to deliver.

I started finishing my basement myself and used Atlas Home Group to finish. The project was on the more difficult side, with many complicated angles and I built a play house for the kids. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Great quality work, reasonable timeline and reasonably priced given the complexity of the project. In my experience working with contractors, these guys are definitely top 5%. Very professional and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. Mike came through and pointed out problems they were going to fix, before I noticed them. I will definitely use these guys on future projects, and I highly recommend them.

I hired Atlas Home Group to remodel my outdated kitchen and update my living room. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Mike Ratterman was extremely thorough and kept me completely in the loop during the entire process. I have had bad experiences with contractors not completely finishing their work, however these guys were always on time and guided me through a final inspection before finishing my project. Wouldn't hesitate to hire again

I can't say enough great things about these guys. We hired them to fix some plumbing issues, electrical issues, paint our baby's room, and knock half of a wall down and make a bar. First, I am VERY picky and change my mind a lot, and they were able to roll with the changes and adjust accordingly. They always showed up on time and left our home very clean and put up dust barriers, which is really important because we have a baby! Mike even mopped our kitchen floor on the last day. The work looks great and was competed on time and they held to their $ quote. We are hiring them to paint the rest of our house and potentially remodel our master bath. We really appreciate how responsive and reliable they are!

Atlas HG used the bait-and-switch tactic on us. We called Mike Ratterman of Atlas Home Group to come out to a HUD home we were purchasing with a renovation loan to see if the renovations we needed could be done within our budget. After a walk-through of the house and describing everything we needed renovated in two separate spaces, he told us it would be a little tight to complete the project within our $30,000 budget. After discussing doing the final finishes for the spaces ourselves, he confidently said the project could be brought nearly to completion within our budget. We expected to have to paint the walls, and purchase and install our own baseboards, trim and small fixtures. After paying him $1,000 as a deposit for the project and for the cost of drawing up the design, his initial bid was $10,300 over-budget, and even then it still didn't include any finishes or flooring, or the tub/shower, toilet or vanity for the new bathroom. After being informed by our loan officer that all renovations being paid for by our 203k loan must be finished spaces, we decided that to save money we would also have to do our own demo and pull permits ourselves. We now would be getting less work done for our money than we were initially told. We understand that the scope of work was a little larger than Mike had anticipated, but this was a big error. After re-working the numbers and trying to get pricing down from his sub-contractors, he was still unable to give us even 1 finished space within budget. We were now getting less than half of the promised work done for our money. This is not at all what was promised when we first met him and showed him our project. Because of the time constraints with buying a HUD home and the closing date extension fees we would have had to pay, we couldn't afford to find a new contractor. And since completing the renovation was the only way this house would be functional for our family, we lost our $1,000 earnest money deposit, the $1,000 we paid them, and the house because of his oversight. I called him and asked for a partial refund. He agreed to give me $450, and then sent me a contract stipulating that I would have to remain silent and refrain from any negative feedback in order to receive my refund. I declined to sign, and he denied me a refund. This was a bait-and-switch. He promised he could do the work for $30k, then jacked up the prices after I had paid him $1,000.

Mark, I know you guys had a lot of time invested into the house and I'm really sorry to hear that you decided against going through with the purchase. Please give me a call on my cell regarding the design.

We hired Mike to remodel our master bathroom. We were impressed by Mike right away. He was able to show us a 3D plan of what we requested including paint colors and tile to help illustrate the plan for the room. He was always friendly, on time and did excellent work! He also made many adjustments to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and even came back after the project was completed to touch a couple things up. We had a great experience working with Mike and Atlas Home Group!

Clare, Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it. I particularly love how your floor turned out, the gray grout really makes the tile pop. Keep in touch, Mike

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Our strength lies in home renovation projects. Kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels and finished basements are among our most popular services because of the detail we put into our proposals on the front end of projects. While we enjoy the renovations projects, we are still good at the smaller projects, including painting, electrical work, plumbing, and drywall repair.
