I am licensed by the Japanese Govenment, endorsed by the Ministry of Education of Japan and have studied Karate for 50 yrs this year. Asked to demonstrate karate for members of the Imperial Family of Japan & United Nations. Senior most instructor in SW Ohio in Shotokan. Chairman of International Karate Federation. Very qualified. It is my way of life. Teaching others to reach beyond the goals and expectations they hold for themselves to greater levels excites me. Helping them improve themselves physically and mentally is my passion.

Sensei Holley is the perfect individual to learn a martial art from. The martial arts are about building your character as a human being even more so than the skills you will develop to be a fighter. Sensei truly teaches shotokan karate as Master Funakoshi had intended as a self defense. Sensei is humble and has the true spirit of budo. He teaches us first to avoid a confrontation and if a confrontation can't be avoided how to end it using only as much force as necessary to escape the situation. Taking a class with sensei will not only help you develop the skills needed to defend yourself and others but how to be a respected member of the community that others can look up to because of the quality of your character. I haven't met an individual at our dojo that doesn't hold Sensei in the highest regard. I respect this man as much as humanly possible and am proud to say that my karate lineage comes from this great man. My wife and I have been training under Sensei for 2 years on and off and just recently obtained our green belts. Sensei is fair but will make you earn your belts so expect to advance slower than some other dojo's. This is a good thing though because you will have not only earned your belt but have the experience necessary to preform what you have learned well. So please come join us. You will get a great work out, You will learn a lot about yourself physically and mentally and you will accomplish things you didn't know you could.

We chose Cincinnati Shotokan for our son wanting to 'do karate' for the convenient location to our home and it's within minutes of his dads gym. Little did we know he would be training under one of the very best in the country. We very highly recommended Cincinnati Shotokan! My son has learned way more than just how to defend himself. Plus we all gained great friend.

No, simple. $75 a month.

The answer is yes, daily research, training to improve my personal skills and periodic trips to Japan for further skills development and learning. A constant after 50 yrs of training.

Being bullied as a child in grade school. For purpose of self defense.
