Bridgetown - Oak Hills School District

Do you have an infant that you want to receive the one-on-one attention they deserve on a consistent basis?

Do you want to know that your pride and joy is being held, talked to, and interacted with and not just sitting in a bouncy seat staring at the walls all day?

Do you want to know that your child is treated like an individual with individual needs and desires and not someone who is being shuffled though station after station all day (eat, diaper change, bouncy seat, bed, eat, diaper change, bouncy seat, bed) from the time you drop them off till the time you pick them back up?

Do you want more than just a babysitter for your child? Do you want someone with experience and training in the child development field?

Do you want to know you are leaving your child in the arms of someone who loves what they are doing, not leaving them with people who dread their jobs and complain about their jobs the minute you leave from dropping your child off?

Do you feel uncomfortable with a daycare center setting and prefer a "home" setting?

Do you have an older child who doesn't like the idea of being left with a "babysitter", but you don't feel comfortable leaving them alone while you are away? Do you need before/after-school care for them?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, I am the solution to your situation!

I am a mother of six children ages 17, 16, 14, 11, 9, and 1. I live with my husband and children in Bridgetown in the Oak Hills school district and we attend White Oak Christian Church in White Oak. I ran a daycare in my home from Aug 1993 through June 2008. I stopped doing daycare to help my children deal with a divorce and I am going to start doing in-home daycare again in August 2010.

I have 15 years of experience running an in-home daycare as well as two years experience working in a daycare center setting. I have completed my CDA (child development accreditation) classes and have many hours of training beyond that.

If you want your child to have the one-on-one attention they need and deserve, rest assured that they will receive it in my home. I offer very competitive rates and hours that work for most parents. If you would like more information, please feel free to send me an email me with any questions you have. I respond to all inquiries.

Have a blessed day!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Find a provider with a similar parenting style to your own. You may not agree with every single thing a provider has in their contract but once you interview you definitely get a "feel" of what their parenting style is like with their own children. If the two of you have similar parenting styles you should have a positive childcare experience.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What days they need care for their child. What time they plan to drop off and pick up. Who is permitted to pick up their child if they are unable to.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I keep my ratio low at all times so that I can provide each child the individual attention that they both need and deserve.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love teaching children and I love watching them soak things up like sponges. I love being a vital part of their lives and I love watching them grow up.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Q. Do I have to pay for days that my child doesn't come.

A. Yes, you have to pay for all days that your child is scheduled to be in my care. For example - If your child is scheduled to be in my care Mon, Wed, and Fri, you would only pay for those 3 days and you would not have to pay for Tues or Thurs. However, if your child is scheduled to be in care Monday - Friday and grandma comes to visit and keeps your child Thurs. and Fri. then you would still be responsible for paying for those two days even though your child was not in my care.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I treat the payment part of my job as a job but I do not treat the children in my care like a job. I treat the children in my care as part of my extended family. In every situation that comes up I ask myself "How would I want MY child to be treated in this situation if they were in someone else's care" and I proceed accordingly.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I knew from a very early age that I wanted to work with children. As soon as I was old enough to have a job I got a part time job in a daycare center and things have just progressed from there.
