Eric Feigl is the founder of eFit and its beliefs. He has a strong passion for fitness, wellness, and educating people on how to use both to their advantage.

Holding a bachelors in Exercise Science and a masters in Kinesiology and Sport Studies, Eric has worked with children 12-17 and adults 18-80 years old. His expertise ranges from sports conditioning, pre-hab and post-hab exercise, physical conditioning, fitness testing, personalized exercise prescription, and general nutrition guidance.

eFit was founded on the belief that fitness varies from person to person but all goals can be achieved through form based and functional movements. My purpose is to encourage people to work hard, stay goal oriented, and pursue realistic aspirations. eFit is your resource for educated and professional fitness advice. If you have a desire to change and the will to act, eFit will be your tool for success!

Fitness has always been my passion. Understandably, exercise and fitness can be intimidating and somewhat foreign to some people. Like everything else it takes energy, patience, and time to have success. It doesn't have to be agonizing and boring though. Regardless of your exercise experience, I can give you a fresh workout to help you reach your fitness potential!

    Working and going to school full time does not leave much time or energy to workout. I need my workouts to be enjoyable and take no more than a reasonable amount of time while still accomplishing my goals. I do not have the time or desire to think about what to do in the gym or what muscles to work out on what day and that is where Eric comes in. I do enjoy working out and Eric is able to come up with fun programs that keep me interested. I have done cardio on my own for years but Eric has helped me incorporate strength training as well allowing me to tone my entire body, something I was not getting with cardio alone. I have gained so much knowledge from Eric that when I am not in the gym I can still use all of the knowledge to get a great workout in by doing the motions and exercises Eric has taught me. I feel that having a trainer is not a short-term commitment where you reach your goals and stop but a long time relationship with health and fitness where you gain knowledge that can be used for years. Eric’s upbeat personality is the perfect match to keep you motivated and moving! I appreciate everything Eric has taught me about physical fitness and nutrition. I recommend him to anyone looking to develop, improve or maintain a physically fit lifestyle!

    Eric and I have been friends for four years when we met while going through the graduate assistant program at Eastern Illinois. My first impression of Eric was, dang, this guy has a lot of energy. Coming from the same educational background as Eric, having a lot of energy basically comes with the territory with everyone in our field, but he takes it to another level. Having the kind of energy and enthusiasm that he has not only makes him successful professionally, but also in every other aspect of his life. Eric is very knowledgeable and continuously seeks more information, he asks me if I have read the latest research on a given topic just to discuss it and then apply it to an element in his life or for a client. His drive to continually seek out research offers his clients the most up to date program available. You will find that beginning an exercise program with Eric will not only give you the physical results that you are seeking through exercise, but you will also absorb his high energy to help get you started, break through those frustrating plateaus, and make sure you continue to reach all your goals. Eric will not just be a trainer for you, but someone you can depend on and a friend.

    I have worked with Eric at two different times in my life now and with the results he has helped me obtain, I don’t ever want to not have him again. First he helped me move to a new cardiovascular level, then he helped me lose weight, improve my strength and tone my body all the while being incredibly patient, encouraging, helpful and trustworthy.
    I have fitness exercise experience including most things in a gym but I need Eric’s commitment and extensive education to develop encouraging encompassing workouts that I don’t have to come up with on my own. I appreciate the accountability of not questioning driving to the gym, participating and pushing myself to a new level. I make decisions all day and determining what exercises to do to obtain my goals was the last thing I wanted to or had the ambition to do. Eric provides that for me. I told him all of my goals that I would ever like to obtain long and short – term and he coordinates workouts and an exercise regimen that encourages, drives, enables, and improves me every week.
    Eric has helped me to tone, gain a great deal of strength, endurance, improved metabolism and above all else self confidence. I am much more comfortable in believing that I will be able to obtain and maintain a healthy level of fitness throughout my life which I was quite concerned about previously.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure you are willing to make the commitment. Personal training is a life changing event and is something that requires drive inside and outside of the gym or training area.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are no secrects to living a healthy life. Being fit and staying active is challenging and its takes sacrifice.

Dedication and hard work is key.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have a personal interest with who I work with. My clients may range in ability and age but I give each of them the same respect and work ethic.

My clients vary from the weekend warrior, series athletes of different ages, to those who simply want to increase their quality of daily living.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Educating people about fitness is most enjoyable to me. Showing someone an exercise or sharing some sort of nutritional advice that helps them achieve a goal; nothing is better!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "Should I be exercising before I hire a personal trainer?"

Not at all. Qualified personal trainers should be able to progress individuals according to the individuals goals, limitations and strengths.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. There are so many to share! Any time I help someone reach a goal (weight loss, weight gain, mobility) it makes my day.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Sometimes clients view trainers as the answer to their wellness needs. We are only a tool in the persons quest to achieve their goal...we can't control their actions outside of the 30-60minutes a day they spend with us. Making a change takes team work!
