Introduction: Yoga Lindsay Nova is a firm believer in the wisdom of the body, the strength of the heart, and the power of the breath. Nova has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification in 2008. Her notable teachers during her training included Edward Clark of Tripsichore Yoga Theater, David Lurey, and Michelle Stobart of Inhale Yoga Studio. She began her teaching path in 2009 at Inhale Yoga and has since taught in numerous environments, ranging from studios, gyms, corporate office settings, and outdoor music festivals to children and adults. Her primary yoga styles are vinyasa, hatha, and restorative. In recent years, she has had the pleasure of taking many Anusara-style classes throughout her travels with such yoginis as Shakti Sunfire, Madhuri Martin and KK Ledford. Her classes fuse core and heart-centered sequences that leave attending practitioners feeling stronger, rejuvenated, and relaxed. She will guide you through a heart centered yoga practice connecting your mind, body, and spirit to the universal flow of cosmic consciousness. She enjoys teaching her love of movement to all levels in her classes. Pilates Pilates became a centerpiece of Lindsay's life in 2007. She quickly adopted the workout as a regular practice, and after seeing it's immediate benefits, became certified to teach Beginner Mat classes through Power Pilates that same year. She was then hired by Ohio University to teach Pilates as a college course during the summers between her studies. She furthered her training with Intermediate and Reformer lessons under the guidance of Professor Marina Walchli and in private lessons at Pilates of Athens in Athens, Ohio. Lindsay teaches Pilates from a perspective emphasizing correct alignment and mindful breathing to foster kinesthetic awareness and improved core stability and posture to contemporary music. Connection Lindsay's background in dance and her subsequent studies in kinesiology and anatomy have given her a thorough understanding of the body. She believes yoga and Pilates to be great tools in fixing underlying physical imbalances and enhancing greater peace of mind. No matter what style of movement she teaches, she always incorporates the breath. Additionally, her classes emphasize correct anatomical alignment as the foundation and she takes the time to connect with her students and ensure their safety before advancing to anything more rigorous. Her classes are not about striving, but rather letting go to an inner guidance, whether it's on a mat or on the dance floor.
