Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Our most common types of jobs are small commercial office parks and storefronts. We also service high-rise buildings and can handle any job, big or small.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. The best advice I can give would be to do a little research before you decide on a company for your janitorial service needs. A lot of companies make promises and offer "free" estimates, and they are not always free. A customer should also look for surprise contracts, and not sign any document before they read the entire thing. We do not require any contracts and all of our estimates are always 100% free.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. If I were a customer, I would like to know how the professionals make the windows streak-free. Our biggest secret to clean windows is in the water, dish liquid is the best cleaning agent for crystal clear glass.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Generally, the only information we require is the number of windows on your business/home that you would like cleaned, and the approximate location of those windows. With just this small amount of information, we can provide a realistic estimate, usually within a couple of minutes.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We are a locally owned business with a very loyal customer base. When you call us, you can speak directly with the owners, not an answering service. We offer multiple cleaning options, with a focus on customer service--if you are not completely satisfied, just give us a call, or send a quick email and we will fix it for free.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. We enjoy the freedom to clean multiple clients in a day. The change of venue keeps our interests fresh and make the work day fly by.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Customers usually want a quick estimate asking "How much for MY house?" We always respond by setting up an appointment time that works for them, and follow up with a call or email to keep things on track.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I basically just walked right into the job. The hours were perfect for me, as well as the different locations for the jobs we do. I really enjoy the freedom of working by the job instead of by the hour. Having this pay system ensures we do excellent work without our employees constantly staring at a clock.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. We recently completed the IWCA (International Window Cleaner Association) safety training program. In addition to the safety program, we stay up to date with the latest safety equipment including harnesses, lanyards, and the bosun chair.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. We have a fairly simple pricing system. Generally the price of the estimate will reflect how many windows are being cleaned, how frequently they have been cleaned (how dirty they are) and the location of the windows on the building.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. The first thing I would advise someone to do would be to take a long look at any fear of heights they might have. That is the hardest thing to get over in this line of work, especially suspended by a 7/16" rope hundreds of feet in the air.
