FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Usually, the first lesson is free so that we can get to know each other, see if we can work together, and possibly plan out future lessons. I charge lessons by 30 minutes and 60 minutes. It is possible to spit up lessons so that during the week you could have two 15 minute lessons and will be charged for one 30 minute lesson. This is recommended for early beginners!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically the first lesson is free. Moving forward we will plan out a specific time and day for upcoming lessons. We will also decide for how long we will want to have lessons, i.e. 6 weeks, 12 weeks, etc. As well as goals that we will want to achieve together during our time, i.e. being able to play in 3rd position, playing an Eb scale in tune, or being able to play a Bach piece, etc. We can also discuss any materials that we will need during the lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.M in Viola Performance from Baldwin-Wallace University and an M.M. in Viola performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Overall I have been playing the Violin/Viola for over 15 years. I have performed in many different types of orchestras, chamber groups, and opera pits including CYO, Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Conservatory Opera Pit, and have attended Music festival during the summer, such as Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival and Harvard Music Festival.
