FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Before the housing market crash in 2008, I had a couple rental properties which I worked on and hired contractors for the items I couldn't tackle. The window guy I hired, (who was the owner of the business) got to talking about the home improvement business. He was telling me how much he loves the field and what he does. We talked for over 2 hours about everything from houses to our families to life in general. He was confident to offer me a job. I worked hard for the man for four years, and even harder for the customer. Unfortunately, the man did not practice what he preached. Everyone suffered. The staff, the customers, and the vendors. I lost everything. Started from scratch with the motivation knowing: "I deserve better, and the customer deserves the best". Everyday I thank the heavens I have the opportunity to do great work, provide jobs to people that have good character and skills, and save the customer money while providing them the best workmanship.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Vinyl Window sales and installation. Aluminum Windows, Commercial Store front windows, Entry Doors, Roofing, Vinyl Siding, Solid-Wood kitchen cabinets, and lots and lots of Glass block windows.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1) Ask for customer references. Will the company allow you to contact the customer? Is the company Licensed, Bonded, and Insured? DON'T be afraid to ask to see proof. 2) Is the company you are inviting to your home setting you up with a lengthy presentation of "their company and how great they are", or are they listening to your needs and explaining how the product will be installed and how it will serve you in your home. 3) If the person you are thinking of hiring does not have a physical location you can visit----be aware. There are exceptions (i.e. he/she is retired with eons of experience and came highly recommended)
