We can cater to any type of event that you are having including wedding receptions, graduation parties, sweet 16's, school dances, karaoke parties, commercial events, pool parties, birthday parties, class reunions, family reunions, anniversary parties, and much much more.
If you need a DJ for anything, we can do it the way you want it done, and at a price that won't clear out your bank account. We are the best at what we do, because of 2 very important factors; the equipment we use and the people we use.
We have over 150,000 songs for your enjoyment, and we add to that number every week. We have over 80,000 karaoke songs as well. We have the best sound equipment for your party, whether you need a small set up for a house party, or a 12 speaker 10,000-watt sound system for a major outdoor event, or reception hall event.
Our prices also include lighting for the dance floor and any announcements that you want us to make, and to top that, we do not have time restrictions. The price that we agree on is what you pay. In other words, if you hire us for an event for 4 hours at 300.00, and after that 4 hours, everyone is still having fun and partying, we will not charge you anything else to stay another hour or two.

I am co-manager at The Wet Bar, and hired Shocking Entertainment 2 months ago for 1 night a week. In that short time we have increased their services to 5 nights a week due to the amazing service they have provided.
Mr. Compton has reworked our lights and added some new ones so our light show on and around the dance floor is amazing.
They have come in early and\or worked late to accommodate our special events and customer needs.
I highly recommend Shocking Entertainment for any dj or karaoke services!– Jen

Had a going away party DJ'ed by Shocking Entertainment before I left for Afghanistan and would deffinitely use their services again. Great service and had every song we requested. Their prices were very competetive and I would certainly recommend them for a gathering of any size.

In 2008 my husband and I were fortunate enough to have Shocking Entertainment DJ our Wedding Reception. Kris Compton was very professional and had our guests up and dancing the whole night. I recently contracted services from Shocking Entertainment for a house party at the end of July. Kris with Shocking Entertainment was more than able to accommodate my needs, as I booked the event only 1 week in advance. The night of the party Kris showed up early, professionally dressed for the occasion with his equipment. Everything was exactly as Kris left it, regardless of the equipment set up. Kris made sure everyone at my party had a great time! He took all sorts of song requests and when he wasn't taking requests everybody was very pleased with the choices in music he selected. To be honest, the party went longer than expected, but Kris was able to stay longer and cut me a deal at the end of the services he performed. I would highly recommend Shocking Entertainment for any party or social event requiring any form of musical entertainment!

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. My most common jobs are Wedding Receptions, Graduation Parties, Birthday Parties, and Karaoke jobs at many local establishments... But if there is to be a dj at your event, we can provide one.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure you hire someone who you think you can get along with on a personal level, and someone you think all of your guests will enjoy.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Playing music that has the same beat as the last song or similar will keep people on the dance floor. If you change the pace too much you will clear the dance floor
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. The only thing you really need to have in mind is what day your event is on and what time, and maybe an Idea of what your budget is. Other than that, just be ready to party

A. How long have you been djing? Shocking Entertainment has been in business for 4 years and I have been djing for about 6 years now..
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I wish people knew how much work it really is to be a DJ. From set up to tear down, we are always working either physically or mentally.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. Long story short. I was a patron of a bar on the east side of Columbus during an Ohio State Game and the guy running the music kind of didn't know what he was doing so I just decided to go up and help him. The bar hired me as their DJ and ever since then I have been DJ Shocker
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I host Karaoke every Friday at a bar on the south end of Columbus and I am very proud of that job because of how packed it gets every Friday that I am there :)
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, I am always looking for new and improved equipment and I am also always looking for the newest and hottest music out there.

A. There is not a complicated pricing system for my company. It's simple. You, the customer, tells us what you want and we go over hours and location and agree to a fair price.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. I would highly suggest shadowing another dj, but if you love music and love people and you are not afraid of public speaking then you will be great..
