Does your house need a face-lift?

Our services include everything from drywall repair to custom decks, room additions, and complete restorations. Specializing in Kitchen and Bathroom design and remodeling, most real estate experts agree that Kitchen and Bath improvements are the best ways to increase the value of your home.

We seldom do jobs by the hour, so you know exactly what the job will cost. However, especially in older homes, there are cases where we will estimate parts of the job by the hour and by hard bid. When a wall is load bearing or has mechanicals running through it, there are options on how to proceed. In which case you are given the choice of a slightly high bid or do it by the hour.

Some of our most common jobs are

* kitchen remodeling
* bathroom remodeling
* drywall and drywall repair
* closet organizers
* basement remodeling

    Steve custom-built the countertops in my home and did a great job. The routered Oak trim on the fact was such a good idea and matches perfectly with the color of my countertops. What a professional you are Steve. Thanks a million!!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. New cabinet installation, cabinet refacing, custom built cabinets, custom fabricated and installation of laminate, corian, ceramic, wood, marble, and granite countertops, ceramic and vinyl flooring, drywall ( new and patch), basement remodeling, and interior/exterior trim and moldings, custom decks, room additions, handicap ramps and grab bars, and attic remodeling.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for referrals,look them up and get everything in writing. There are so many " fly by night " companies that take advantage of people that need help doing things that they can't, or don't have time to do themselves.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. On mold jobs , many home owners wish they knew that a even mixture of bleach and water will kill mold, then wash the affected areas with Dawn dish soap, rinse thoroughly, let it dry completely, then, with "Killz" or "Bin" paint the affected area. I found that using spray cans of Killz or Bin better enables us to get into every little crevace. Following these simple steps kills mold. Now fix the cause of moisture from getting back in, and the mold problem will be fixed for good.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Mainly what types of materials they want to use. Actually that and any other issues will be addressed at my initial consultation. So, in other words, the client just has to have a need for our services. We will take care of the rest.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our work stands out from the other contractors because our #1 priority is to give you 100% satisfaction on all of our services. We are not satisfied until YOU think our craftsmanship is FANTASTIC. We are 100% devoted to YOUR job, while staying in our agreed timeline and YOUR budget.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The most rewarding part of our business is the transformation that YOU fall in love with. You will definitely use us for future projects and refer us to your friends and family.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question asked is " will my house be livable while you are working on it" My answer is always "YES". The only times you may not be able to live in ti while we are working on your home is if it a complete renovation, even then there are ways to work around that.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I was doing a bathroom floor , when about a 1/2 hour into the job the client asked me " What is taking so long". Confused, I asked "What do you mean". She said " I see this in T.V. all the time and it only takes them a 1/2 hour. I replied " That included commercials too". Then I explained that it takes about 2 weeks to film a 1/2 hour show.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That if it were easy , everyone would do it. And on special order products , order them about 2 weeks before I begin the job, just to make the job run more efficiently.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. When I was in High School, I took a construction class and my instructor told me that I had natural skills and I would excel in house rehabs. He was right.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I converted a run down basement into a beautiful living area with stainable paneling , a suspended ceiling, and a wood grained vinyl floor.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I attend many home improvement seminars every year to stay up on the most current design and new product trends.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. GREEN products are among the latest trends, along with products that last longer than they have in past years. For example the jambs on many exterior doors are made of composite material, which can be stained or painted, and resists damages due to climate in Ohio and most other states as well. Composite decking, fencing, siding, and exterior trim and moldings are also a growing trend.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. My most recent job we did was, custom kitchen countertops and 3 vanity tops. All new sinks, faucets, supply lines, and drains for the kitchen and 3 baths, New ceramic flooring in the kitchen, pantry, and closet. Re-framed the cased opening leading into the dining room. Skimmed the kitchen walls smooth. Added a dishwasher. Replaced the stair treads and handrails, and did the drywall repairs in the laundry room. It took me 5 days and only cost the home owner $3,500 for labor and materials. They will get at least 4 times the investment when they sell their house this month.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. I don't have a complicated pricing system, I always stay within the clients budget.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. You don't have to be the fastest or the cheapest, but you do have to be the BEST.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How do you perform the jobs so inexpensively? With over 24 years of personal experience, and then add in the experience of my associates, we have the best money saving ideas in the industry, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
