Elaine did a wonderful job cleaning our Worthington home. She was professional, friendly with my young girls and did an awesome job. I walked through the house marveling at all the small things she did. I had never had a cleaning service before and I told my husband that night that I was going to hire her at least monthly to help me. As a mother of soon to be three and full time worker, I need that little extra help to keep my sanity and my home relaxing.

She made things sparkle and really took great care. Her price is reasonable and affordable to add her to my monthly expenses and feel very good about how my hard earned $$ are being spent.

Elaine does a fantastic job with cleaning our house. Her rates are reasonable and everything looks great when I come home from work. We have had a lot of cleaning services and she is the best we have had! I highly recommend her.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Bi-weekly and One-time Deep Cleanings. I offer weekly, bi-weekly and monthly routine cleanings. I also offer One-time Deep cleanings, Spring and Fall cleanings, and Move in/out.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. You get what you pay for in most cases. Look for a cleaner who knows how much they are worth, and one who is experienced and knowledgeable in cleaning techniques and cleaning products.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I use both eco-friendly and regular cleaning products depending on the cleaning task at hand. I also rotate my cleanings between deep and general cleanings to keep your home in its best condition.

I recently tried all eco-friendly cleaning products for a month or two and have found that I am not liking it as much for bathroom cleaning. It just doesn't seem to cut thru the soap scum and keep the shower tiles from forming molds. I am very particular about how i clean showers. So I am going back to my original cleaning methods but keeping as many eco-friendly products in my supplies.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love meeting new people, flexibility of scheduling, and the ability to work for myself. I have always been an obsessive cleaner in my own home, so I will be bringing that strength into your home.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. 1. How much do you charge? Flat Rate
2. Do you work in a team or by yourself? By myself
3. Do you work weekends? No, only weekdays.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. All of my work is my favorite story. I enjoy my job completely and have a great time thinking about all the people I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know. Many of my clients are like great friends.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I decided to get into housecleaning because I have always been a obsessive cleaner. I used to find myself at my friend's homes picking up and cleaning their homes by accident, or just when they needed some extra help. A daughter of my good friend, has a nickname for me, "the cleaning tornado"... In a good way! One day I just decided that since I wasn't happy in my previous job... that I should just do what I love to do and that is cleaning homes. I love my career, this isn't my job... this is what I was meant to do.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I keep up to date on new products and equipment that could provide an edge to my cleanings. There is no formal education in being a house cleaner except for to stay informed on cleaning techniques and customer service.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Latest developments would be the Dyson vacuum, steam mops, microfiber flat mops.

The one thing that I hope doesn't happen in the next few years or decade are Housecleaning Robots!!!! I'd be out of a job! :(

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. If you want flexibility in your job, enjoy working your own hours, unlimited income potential... I would not hesitate to pursue housecleaning as a career. It requires hard work, high energy, and dedication.
