Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. For years it was kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Mostly high end basement remodels. I do it all actually. Painting and wall covering, all forms of carpentry, countertops and cabnetry, flooring, drywall, ceramic and other types of tile, doors and windows, fans and lighting, kitchen and bathroom fixtures and water heaters. Home theaters and routing of coax for television.
Now I'm obviously back into the insulating and home energy field(have done extensively in the past as well)...

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. We all like to save money! In the home remodeling field, cheaper is not always better. I'm not expensive! But, I'm not bargain basement either.
The old saying goes, "you get what you pay for"... In my world you get peace of mind and high quality work for a fair price.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would like to know the how's and why's... What makes it tick, what makes it work? Most don't care as long as the task is performed/completed as advertised though... Inside secret?... Get a contractor that is personable and that you can trust!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. First and formost! They must have the desire to save money on heating and cooling bills. If they have the money to burn on rising utility bills and let heating/cooling efforts go through the roof, then I wish I were them... This product has been made a manditory law for all new builds in EIGHT states already. The product works! Hands Down!

Do you pay too much for heating/cooling? If so, you need to visit GreenEnergyBarrier dot com

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. As a child, I was raised by a close family who remodeled homes. I had two grandfathers whom were master craftsman and their knowledge was passed down through my father... I take great pride in all that I do and it shows... I have a large customer base and receive new project orders from them consistently. I look at all projects as art... and I am the Artist!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I do makes me feel good! To look at the before and after photos, to see the joy that I've brought to the families that I've remodeled for and to have the feeling that "I did it"...

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most of my new customers are referrals... Therefore they know my capacity and information base... Most ask me for my opinion about design, style and color coding. My answer is... Yes, I can help!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish that they knew that everyone whom attempts this trade, is NOT good at it! Just because they can buy a hammer, a saw, a tool box, a belt... Does not give them the ability to use them! Working with your hands is a God given ability and you either can or cannot perform! Period!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was raised as a child to wear a tool belt. Raised to be artistic and creative. it's also in my blood line to build, make and create. At 17 years of age, I entered U.S. Naval Aviation and remained for 6 years. After owning an Auto, yacht, and Aircraft detailing business in Florida, I entered the U.S. Airforce and became an F-4 Phantom crew chief and flight chief. Trying to find a career in the civilian world was bleek. I found that working with my hands was my calling and returned to the home remodeling arena...

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I'm proud of "ALL" of my jobs. However I can say that I've done numorous jobs for the family of a major league baseball player! Have known this family since this ball player was in college and now he plays for the N.Y. Yankees! Finished a high-end basement for them in 1997... Hard wood floors and ceramic tile in the new condo... I recently mounted various bats, gloves, balls, chamagne bottles, hats and Etc... in their basement and organize closets for Mom. Hint: GO BUCKS!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Always! Every day and every project is a new learning experience! If I need to consault, I do... Rarely though.
After being in this trade for over 30+ years (combined with aviation maintenance), There's not much to learn except for new products... Once you grasp it, it's "old" news...

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Glad that you asked! Most definately! For "Years", Lobyists worked hard for insulation companies to keep this technology quiet! This is a product that actually WORKS! In fact, the U.S. Government has recently found that Americans need to conserve and reduce the demand on our resources. Therefore promoting this technology as a nessecity in reducing gas and electric demand across the country and world for that matter...

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. First, you "MUST" have eye-hand coordination linked with the ability to perform a job correctly! If you want to "WING" it... Get a job at a fast food joint!
