Diamonds in the Ruff

The training I do is based on the science of classical conditioning (Pavlov's dogs) and the positive side of operant conditioning based on the work of B.F. Skinner and Edward Thorndike. I use positive reinforcement to teach your dog english, after all they already know how to do all of the behaviors you want - I teach them the english words to the behaviors so they will understand what you want. If fear or aggression is the issue, I use systematic desensitization and counter conditioning to change the dogs emotional state when faced with a feared object or person. Dog training is like teaching a child to read - there is that precious moment when they get it - the spark of understanding when your dog realizes that communication is a two way street.
