I had shopped around on which shop to use when i was trying to sell my 05 bmw 323, A friend of mine posted that they had just had their suv detailed and posted pictures they told me to take it to Jim's Auto Detailing. After calling to get his prices and seeing his before & after pictures, I knew i was in great hands. The car needed alot of cleaning and the headlights were yellow, Jim told me that is did not matter how dirty it was the price would not change but he would need the vehicle for atleast 2 days due to the dirty it was and since i was selling it that did not matter. Almost 2 days later Jim called to tell me it was done and emailed me the pictures so i could use those for the car listing. I was shocked at how nice the car looked and the headlights were clear again. After putting a for sale sign on the car, I had 6 calls in the 1st 3 hours and sold it the next day. I am now a customer for life! If you want the best service and a really clean vehicle give Jim a call.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for someone who offers everything you want done in a package, not only does it save you time & money. Check if they have before and after pictures of vehicles, If they only offer referrals & not pictures i would move on to the next provider. Before and after show the quaility of work being performed and word of mouth is the best way to find who is good and who is not.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Be sure they offer services you are looking for at a price you can afford. They understand your needs and can perform the services in a timely manner. Ask questions if you have any before anything is done ie: price, how long will it take, if they do touch up paint work. If you have pet stains, blood stains or urine please advise the detailer so they can wear protective clothing, If you are diabetic that is something a detailer needs to know incase of sharps. Those tend to fall between the seats, If i am unsure i will use a flashlight to look before performing any interior cleaning.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We take pride in the work we do, We will make sure that everything is done right the first time. We are the only shop around that uses a 20 gallon industrial steam cleaner unit. Your vehicle is not clean unless it has been steam cleaned. With all the extras we offer in our complete package no one else can do what we do for the price we offer!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Knowing that my customers are happy when they pick up their vehicle, If they are selling the vehicle it will sell faster than most when we clean it. The fastest i have seen one sell is 30 mins after the customer picked it up and put a sign on it.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The question i get the most is what is the difference between shampoo & steam cleaning... My answer to that is 90% of detailers use what i call spray foam in a can, it only masks stains and does not remove them. Steam cleaning kills all contaminates, removes pollen, pet dander, pet accidents, food and drink spills and KILLS BUGS!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Detailing cars is alot of hard labor and very time consuming but if you love what you do, You will never be unhappy. I treat every vehicle like my own. I am also a 12 year cancer survivor. Most people get into the business for the money and charge insane prices, I am here for the customers and I feel the same as most with the economy and prices only going up everyone is looking to save when they can, But your vehicle is a investment if you take care of it, then it will last longer than most things. This is the reason my prices are lower than the rest.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I started out working at a car wash, when the owner asked me if i wanted to learn how to detail cars i jumped at the chance. 16 years later I am still doing what i love and helping others.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. First and foremost going to school and getting trained is the best way, Take the classes on detailing, wheel repair, glass repair, headlight restoration, dent repair. After completing school start out working at a business before trying to start your own, This way you get a feel of day to day opperations and make money for your own equipment. Once you have 2 years experience or more then look into starting your own. One thing that is in demand is wheel repair tech. If you go into that field the schooling is longer and the training is tough.
