Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Lawn Mowing, Fertilization, Fall Clean-Up, Gutter Cleaning, and Snow Removal.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your research and get multiple bids. Have the work done by someone that you trust, that is reliable, that communicates well and responds in a timely manner. Make sure that they are licensed and insured and always ask friends or family for recommendations. And when you find someone you like, please refer them to others.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The cheapest service is RARELY the best service. Make sure that you know what you are getting with any landscaping proposal. If you have questions, make sure you ask and always get it in writing. You really do get what you pay for.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I always tailor my services to the specific needs of the customer. I meet with them prior to doing any work, go over their needs and goals, and customize a free estimate based on this information. I guarantee my work and strive for excellent communication with my clients.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. What are the most important components to keeping a beautiful and healthy lawn?

The 5 most important steps to having a great lawn are to as follows:

1. Test your soil - soil that is too acidic or alkaline will not produce healthy grass.
2. Aerate your lawn - Aeration allows oxygen, nutrients and water to reach the root system.
3. Fertilize your lawn - Four treatments in the spring, summer and fall will provide nutrients, help prevent weeds and protect against heat and insects.
4. Water your lawn - Give your lawn at least one inch of water per week in the late morning before the hottest part of the day.
