Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Browse a photographer's images and see if his/her style is right for you. Keep in mind that some processing styles are "trendy" (e.g.: an image of a wedding party in black and white with the flowers all processed in hot pink) and ask yourself if these kinds of images will stand up over the years. Look less at the polish of the photographer's Web site and marketing materials and more intently at his/her images. Also, for a wedding, do you want someone who will dictate your special day or someone who will allow the day to unfold and capture the bride and groom genuinely interacting or someone who will pose the bride and groom relentlessly, turning the wedding into a photo shoot.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Keepsake (Portrait/Wedding) Photography: I am not into setting up shots and "molding an image" of my clients. Instead, I prefer to interact with and relax my clients enough to allow his or her "real" self to shine through. I think these images are most genuine and most likely to be cherished by others over a lifetime.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love every aspect of photography - from meeting potential clients, doing the shoot and then thoughtfully post-processing. While it is labor-intensive, I truly care about people and always put in the extra effort to ensure clients are thrilled.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How do we "do" this? My answer is that there is no set answer. I learn about my clients and what they're looking for, and then suggest ways to achieve their vision, whether if the shoot is for personal portraiture, an international company, a wedding or for Website imagery.
