Sensible Home Design is a locally owned and operated home planning and design company. Sensible Home Design has been serving the greater Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio community since 1996.
Sensible Home Design is not limited to this area. We are currently working on projects in Kentucky and Tennessee, and have done projects as far away as South Dakota. Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check out www.aibd.org (American institute of Building Design)for info on hiring a building/home designer.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Building designers are a low cost alternative to hiring an expensive architect. Most have as much or more experience as an architect and specialize in home design and construction.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. 1. Do you have References?
2. Experience in your locality - Building Department
3. Cost saving ability.
4. Ask to see previous work. (this is important especially with the ease of buying cad software.)
5. Professional associations. (HBA, Aibd, etc.)
