I provide individual and business income tax planning and preparation, estate and trust tax planning and preparation, as well as QuickBooks support. I am an enrolled agent, and I am a fellow of the National Tax Practitioners Institute, member of National Association of Enrolled Agents, Ohio State Society of Enrolled Agents and National Association of Tax Professionals. I work closely with an estate planning and trust attorney, giving clients the opportunity to plan both taxes and long-term life issues in one place.
My clients enjoy having a local person who is available year round for questions, as well as during that all-important tax filing season. I specialize in personalized attention with complete confidentiality for all my clients.

Burda Books was referred to me 3 years ago as I was looking to streamline my bookkeeping and tax preparation efforts. I have a small graphic design firm (Averill & Associates Creative Lab, Inc.) and Pam Burda understands my challenges. Now she is part of my team, I never have a worry and everything in our financial and tax life is clearly understood and secure. She's amazing, we'll always be in the Burda Books camp.

A. Ask for references from other clients - I'm always happy to provide reference information to potential clients. Check to see if the business has a year round location that you can call and ask questions and who will be the contact if there is a problem with your return.
Ask for pricing on other services, such as help with setting up a business and an accounting system.
Always ask questions: my motto is that there are NO dumb questions. I would rather explain things up front than have a problem later because someone was afraid to ask a question.
A. What is an Enrolled Agent? It's a tax professional who is licensed by the Internal Revenue Service, who is able to represent clients before the IRS. Also, if a tax person claims to be an RTRP or Registered Tax Return Preparer, keep in mind that the IRS only started testing for the RTRP in the last month or so. Be prepared to provide social security cards for dependents and your drivers license if you are getting a bank product such as refund anticipation loan.
A. What are your fees, what service does that fee include? Are there any additional fees that I should be aware of? If I want a direct deposit of my refund, do I have to pay for that service? What are the chances of an audit? If I get a letter from the IRS or state what happens then? Do you prepare the city return for me too? When will my refund get to my bank account? What if I don't have a bank account and don't want a check? Where can I check the status of my refund? What happens if I owe money? Can I set up a payment plan?
