Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do not shop on price alone. Many times you do get what you pay for. Since Ohio does not require licensing for a home inspector, you need to make sure that the inspector has the necessary training, experience, and reputation. Look for professional associations that the inspection company belongs to and don't be afraid to ask them which association. You can then check with the association to make sure that they are in good standing with them.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Since there are no licensing requirements for Ohio, I would want to know about the education of the inspector. I would also want to know if they are required by a professional association to have continuing education. I would also want to know what reporting format they use (computer or hand-written) and if they share my inspection report (and findings) with anyone other than me.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What training have you had? How long have you been in business? What professional association do you belong too? Do I need to have the utilities on for the inspection?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What inspections you will require such as; General Home, Wood Destroying Insect (Termites), Radon, Indoor Air Quality. Also, clients need to realize that every home (even newer ones) have issues that need addressed. No building is perfect and you want to hire a professional that is unbiased that will identify areas that need attention.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Integrity Home Evaluation Services was started in 2007 to provide a superior home inspection experience. The company provides each client with the very best effort and tries to answer any and all questions that may arise. They don't just provide you with a verbal or hand written report, they have invested their resources into utilizing the most current and up to date inspection software that includes digital photographs to help you understand the details of the inspection findings.
