Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I would love to have the opportunity to communicate by email or talk with you directly about being considered as your wedding officiant or minister. This is a big choice to make because the person who officiates your wedding will create the ceremony which you will remember forever. A professional officiant can offer guidance so that you have a memorable occasion loved by you and the people who attend your wedding

I am fortunate to work with my wife, Amy. She is also a designer and backup officiant for me. Together, we create a ceremony combining your background, personal requests, special needs and heritage. Whether your wedding lasts 5 minutes or 55 minutes, it will be unique and personalized.

If possible, I like to meet with a couple ahead of time at a location, time and place of convenience. The meeting is informal and offers a great way for everyone to get to know one another. All questions are answered. This type of meeting is free and offers you a chance to give you a fresh perspective on how to go forth.

I am available any day unless there are previous commitments. If I am booked on your special day, there is a good chance that I can find you another excellent officiant. Feel free to email or call me at your convenience. May your wedding day be joyous and your future lives happy.

Wow...my Daughter's big day hasn't arrived yet. We just met with the Gordon's today. She was excited from the minute she set her appointment and today I saw why. They are wonderful, great sense of humor, a feel for exactly what my Daughter was looking for and very open and friendly. I am so excited they are doing Amanda's wedding!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. To be an officiant requires reading, writing, research, public speaking and comraderie. I like to write. I like to research. I like to read. I like to meet people. If someone has a different type of request, I will take the necessary steps to make their wedding unique for them.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The best way to hire an officiant is to meet that person. There should be a comfortability factor as well as answers to all questions.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would want to know how to get David Tutera to create a fabulous wedding for no cost.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Wedding officiants are often the last person to be considered for a wedding. It is important to book early and send a deposit so that date is confirmed.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are different because we provide a ceremony specifically designed for the bride and groom. The wedding day is not about me. It is about them. We perform the type of service they want. All the ceremonies we have officiated are completely different from each other. They reflect the hopes, dreams and desires of the couple.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Weddings are joyous. We like to be part of a celebration that brings happiness into the lives of a newly married couple.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question is "How much will the wedding cost?" I ask them a few questions to determine exactly what type of wedding they want and give them an exact price.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One bride wanted to have soft rock playing in the background as people came to her outside wedding. As her 90 year old grandmother entered, the coincidental rock music playing was a ZZ Tops tune called She's Got Legs.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Being a wedding officiant looks easy but requires time. There is an extraordinary amount of planning, writing, organizing, learning and effort. The wedding ceremony is simply a culmination of a lot of work.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been involved with people and public speaking since I first started school. I was involved in church activities as a child and television commercial and plays as an adult. Being an officiant is simply putting all my interests together into one.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A girl called me who had just been robbed. She was out of money, out of time and out of luck. I sat down with her during the middle of the week. By that Saturday, she was a happily married woman. We worked through her temporary difficult situation easily.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I keep a steady supply of books by my bed.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. We do not question the love between two people. We want other people to be as happy with their choice as we are with each other.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. We work with many vendors and can provide both assistance with services and venue if needed. Often couples ask us to help with last minute requests for a vendor who has become unavailable. We know exactly who to call to make their wedding go smoothly.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. We have 3 different prices depending on the type of ceremony wanted. 1) The couple can meet where we live. We have an excellent location for a short and sweet (or longer if desired) wedding. We can accommodate up to 30 people. 2) Some people choose to have a simple wedding in a location of their choosing. The venues are extremely varied. 3) Couples may choose to have a first-class celebration with flair and pageantry.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would tell them to do it ONLY if they had a desire to do it. I find being an officiant exciting and fun. My son and daughters would probably not think the same. For them, I would suggest they continue with their present jobs.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How long will you be an officiant?

Good question! I hope until the day of my last breath.
