Welcome to the Hakes Piano Studio!
It's nice to have you here. I'm currently offering piano lessons in my Wyoming home and have room for 10 additional students. My student base currently exists of students from ages 4 - 60+. I have a “boatload” of superior students of whom I’m extremely proud. I must single out one, however: a former violinist with the CSO who happens to be a fabulous pianist, as well as a virtuoso “fiddle” player. It’s great to have her as a dear friend and student. I'm sure she would not mind serving as a reference.
I'm classically trained, possess a B.Mus and M.Mus in piano performance, but most of all, love teaching. I have engaged in much research and many additional pedagogy classes throughout the years for my continual improvement as a teacher. I'm also of the mindset that not everyone learns via classical music, so am flexible in the repertoire I teach. Don’t misunderstand, I have always maintained a very high bar with the final outcome of a piece of music no matter what genre.
