Kenny Reyes was our DJ for our wedding. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect reception(from dance lessons to coordinating with photographer, rehearsal dinner music and keeping me on schedule). We met with him several of times and he always said that a DJ makes or breaks a reception. At the time I wasn't sure what that meant until I saw first hand the meaning of that statement. We had guests from the other wedding receptions in the hall coming over to dance. Everyone was talking! Til this day...7 years later people are still talking about the reception and how it was the best they have ever been to. Again, this was all because we had the BEST DJ to set the tone for the reception! Thank you Kenny Reyes for EVERYTHING you did to help execute my perfect wedding reception!

DJ Kenny definitely knows how to keep a party going! After attending several events (graduation parties, weddings, and clubs), where Mr. Reyes was the DJ, I chose to hire him for my wedding, which was held in Las Vegas. Mr. Reyes was both professional and knowledgeable. He provided his expertise and experience to plan our reception. He tailored every detail and music mix to match the story and style of my husband and I, even down to my father/ daughter dance, which was a hit! With custom mixes, line dances, and loads of fun, he made our reception a success! Years later, guests still refer to our wedding as one of the best weddings they'd ever attended. If you want an event that will be memorable and fun, Kenny Reyes will not disappoint!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. There are a few things that you want to keep in mind when looking for a professional Dj and cost should not be your first item to consider. As your self this question is your entertainment more important than your veggie tray? If you are paying $15.00 to 25.00 a plate if you get the veggie tray for 100 guests at $15.00 a plate you are paying$1500. for your veggies. How much more important is your wedding entertainment then the Veggie table?

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Wedding Entertainment should be the first thing that you should take care of before you find your location because you are planning your entertainment event. I strongly recommend that you hire someone who is geared to your taste. If your are more of a props kind of guy or girl then hire a Dj service that provides that for your but not all guys are props kind of guys. Hire according to your likes and dislikes not on what is being offered at the table and also not all Dj's are mix dj's so if you want your wedding to rock then hire a Mix Dj that can keep your party rockin

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask your Wedding entertainment service if they take requests and if you have a special genre of music that you would like for your event ask the company if they will play what you want to hear? There is nothing worse than getting to your event and the entertainment not know what you have requested. Also if the service has more than one Dj, ask them if they will be the one who is entertaining for your event? Once you have a contract with the persons name on the contract of who will be your entertainment Jock that way you can communicate with them what you want for your event. There is nothing worse them getting to your event and your Dj is not prepared.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. What i do is I want to know my clients so for me to come and meet with my client more than once is very important to me. I make sure that i have all the songs that they want for each part of the evening. I consult with my clients and make sure that they are first going to get married for sure. Second I make sure that the facility that they are having the event allows for early setup so that i can be there early to get a great sound check and I make sure that the staff has a copy of the agenda for the evening. If there were things asked for by my clients that is not where it was suppose to be then it is arranged so that they are satisfied. My clients are the most important part of the evening so I want the best for them. Remember you get what you pay for.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love music and I love being able to get the older folks dancing at a wedding because if you can get grandma and grandpa dancing you really have a party. I love the fact that getting families together to celebrate such a special event makes me happy and I can convey it with the music selections that keep the folks dancing.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Since I travel for my weddings, I had a rather interesting experience when i had set up my wedding for Las Vegas. I arranged to rent equipment in Las Vegas for The event that I got called for. Well after arranging everything, getting the brides requests together and a specialized grand entrance. The Bride called me frantically freaking out and our conversation sounded like this " Hello! Kenny OMG you are not going to believe this! What? The place where i went to give my deposit is no longer there! I mean the Building is gone! Ok I will see what i can do I will call you back tomorrow. Ok!"

Needless to say I was able to get in touch with a company that was actually from Ohio who gave me a great deal it cost $100 dollars to rent the speakers and it was there when i got there to set up for the wedding and it worked flawless. It was a great success.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been in the entertainment industry since i was 9 years old but it was one wedding that i attended that the Dj I will not disclose his name for embarrassment but he showed up to the wedding with a stained tuxedo tee shirt and had no microphone skills what so ever and his musical selection was shall i say not pg rated.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. My most recent project is an international mix show that is actually broadcasting from my soundcloud.com/dj-kennyken link you can hear my latest mixes they are heard all over the world and my goal is to retire from wedding entertainment and tour across the globe. That will be my next year project so I have a solid year to make this happen.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. I am currently working on improving my health and my image as a professional. Appearance is very important especially when you are in the public eye. I am also upgrading my professional sound system as I have a few sound systems running but I love to make my sound just rock and make sure that folks are having a great time. If it does not sound good to me it will not sound good to my clients or there guests.
