I had used Doreen and Airbrush Images for several events, and I couldn't imagine NOT using her for my own wedding this past fall. Her experience and customer service are fantastic and she's so easy to work with. Doreen goes out of her way to make your special day go as smooth as possible. The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is your makeup. Everytime I have worked with Doreen, I've been more than happy with my results. Te makeup is flawless and stays on ALL day and night! I've recommended her to several of my friends and will continue to use her services in the future!

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. Three recent jobs I have completed are:
Wedding party of 8 in North Olmsted Cleveland, Ohio
Several Trial sessions for upcoming summer brides
Documentary for Morning Star Products filmed here in Youngstown, Ohio.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My advice to brides is to plan ahead. Don't wait to hire a Make Up Artist last. I have had to say no to many brides that waited. My services are sometimes booked up to a year in advance. At least put down a deposit to reserve your date. Make Up trial sessions are important also and should be done at least 3-4 months prior to the event to ensure that you get the look that you desire.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Airbrush is a very specialized technique no matter how easy infomercials make it look. There are many types of machines and products available and choosing the right ones takes professional training and experience. I carry several different formulations and custom blend color to achieve the desired effect.
A professional artist should be more like a brides advocate making her feel beautiful and stress free about her beauty by going out of her way to meet the brides needs on every level.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How experienced is the artist?
Does she/he offer trial sessions?
Does she/he travel to your location?
Is there a minimum for travel?
Is he/she a licensed professional with credetials?
Does he/she have a portfolio (pictures) of work?
Does he/she have good reveiws and recommendations?
Does he/she require a contract for event services?
Is there a mimimum deposit required to reserve an event?
Is he/she experienced with different skin conditions and ethnicities?
If he/she is not available can they give a referral?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Do you have a budget that allows for this type of service?
Do you know the look you want to achieve for the event?
Are you willing to travel to studio for as trial session?
Can you provide details ie; times, locations, how many will be using the services?
Are you willing to pay a travel fee or hotel fee if necessary?
If you are unsure of what you are hoping to achieve are you willing to pay extra to try another look?
Do you understand that all services require a contract and must be paid in full prior to event (at least one to two weeks depending on location.)?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. As a Cosmetologist I have served in all aspects of the Beauty Industry for 30 years. As an innovater in Make Up I was the first to bring Airbrush Make Up and Airbrush Tanning to the North East Ohio area in 1996. The Bridal Beauty niche has been my area of expertise throughout my career.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I love most about my job is that I am doing what I love and meeting people from all over the country. I have had the pleasure of working with brides of all races and ethnicities. This challenges me to learn new techniques and custom design looks for each bride. Not to mention it is an honor to be chosen by any bride to be a part of the biggest event of their life.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most clients want to know if I will come to their location on their wedding day and if there is a minimum number of people for my services to travel.
I will travel to any location as long as they are willing to pay the travel fee which will depend on the distance from my studio. There is no travel fee within a 25 mile radius of the studio and there is no minimum number for me to travel.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. To choose a Make-Up Artist you want to find out their level of experience. Are they experienced with Airbrush and do they offer trial sessions to preview your look.
I offer a guarantee with all of my services and keep my techniques at expert level. If a client is not satisfied I will work with them to give them the result they are looking for and in the rare case that I can't deliver the result there will be no charge or a refund.
Deposits are the only non-refundable fees as this is a choice to reserve my services for an event.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest being a licensed professional either Esthetician or Cosmetologist then practice, practice and practice more. If you can find an artist looking for an assistant or apprentice this is the best education you will ever get. You will have to pay or work for free but you will gain a wealth of knowledge. Take classes for both basic and advanced techniques if you can afford this and find your niche to be the best.
