This is what I do!

Ruthi is rooted in America's music, not just country. She offers old and new rock, pop, Cajun, blues, gospel and jazz, whatever the genre, in French or in Spanish. If nothing else, she's heartfelt, she's sentimental, and she's sincere. She's where all these things meet for that certain experience in music! Give her a listen at the website listed.

With a repertoire of over 300 tunes, Ruthi is a fun, easy listen. If you think that country is not your cup of tea, she'll make you think again. You'll hear an energetic array of old country, country line dance, old rock and roll, blues, gospel, lively vintage favorites, and for the right crowd, an occasional poetic tale. Whether she's singing from the heart on an old big band tune or getting cocky with some rock and roll, her smooth, easy style will captivate you.

She can get the roughest crowd up dancing and singing or engage a group of children and have them hanging on every word; teenagers actually stop and listen and the old hearts remember when. Her heart-felt delivery of the national anthem (acapella) has become a favorite among NHRA Nostalgia Hot Rod Reunion patrons. In the midst of all of this, she still finds the time to share her natural talents with her hometown senior centers.

She has entertained for groups of 20, and as many as 25,000 including various nightclubs, pubs, saloons, rodeos, sporting events, banquettes, fairs and numerous events for the Elks Lodges, American Legions and Eagles Lodges throughout the United States. She has won many female vocalist awards and was a finalist in the Tim McGraw country idol contest. During her most recent 109-day tour in South Texas, she performed 93 various dances and shows.

Ruthi is a self-contained performer, complete with a sound system to suit any venue. She can keep it soft and low for a small intimate house, rock the house, and even shake the rafters, if that is what's called for. According to Radio WEFT, "Even if you don't like country music, you could still listen to her for hours and is considered by others to be one of the best bangs for the buck in the business."

She is the #1 booked artist in South Texas for a reason.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I do 1 hour stage shows and 3 hour dances. I perform for crowds as small as 30 and as large as 25,000.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for references, anyone that you can talk to and get a feel of the service that is provided. I am an entertainer and I take pride in interacting with customers and making everyone feel welcome.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Items for sale are a given and the customers can see them. Be sure to have them tell you how much time will be spent on the stage hocking their goods. As an entertainer who attends shows as well I was very annoyed when at least 10min of show time was spent selling their CD's etc.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Do you wish to be compensated for extra travel time? Do you interact with customers? Do you take requests? Will you have CD's available for sale?

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. My customers ask me if I do private parties. Yes I do!!

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I performed for the Lucent retirement Luncheon held at the Western Heritage Museum, the standing ovation was breath taking.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. My fee is $125.00 an hour with a 2 hour minimum. The distance I have to travel to perform affects the overall price as well. (This does not affect local venues).

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength is the way I relate to each individual along with my voice, range and delivery. I deliver a song from the heart and my audience knows it.
