I always improve on my knowledge of fitness. I have to maintain my NASM- CPT certification every 2 years. I am currently studying for my PES Performance Enhancement Specialist through NASM. Currently getting certified as a fitness nutrition specialist. I can write up individualized meal plans. This is not a one meal plan fits all type program.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first got into fitness because I grew up very skinny and small. I also needed more self confidence. I was tired of being small and skinny. I worked extremely hard to get into shape. In 1984 when I went into the US Navy I weighed only 115 pounds. Then in 1996 I discovered a way to exercise to get the best and fastest results possible with even less time in the gym. I worked out smarter and more effectively with less time wasted. In 1996 I studied to become a certified personal trainer through The National Academy of Sports Medicine NASM. Through NASM I learned all about Exercise physiology and exercise science. I fully understand kinesiology, the study of movement in the human body, the relation between joints, and the function between the muscles and the joints when performing different exercises. My greatest joy is seeing people get real results from me helping them reach their goals. I am not interested in pushing for any gym memberships just to get a quota. I just want you to be happy with the way you feel and the way you look . And I know and will guarantee the results you will notice when following my step by step instructions. My dream is to be the number one trainer people come to for advice and knowledge for any fitness related questions especially on techniq
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I usually do a Complete goals assessment. What does the person wants to achieve, Muscle gain and fat loss. Then we do a complete nutritional analysis and we take Body fat % and measurements and weight in order to create the perfectly designed meal plan. So the person is eating the correct amount of Carbohydrates, proteins and fats for their lean body mass. The most common issue is losing weight. After we have the person't nutrition properly dialed in we do a movement assessment. We go through several basic exercises to test movement of all joints. Before any of all of this the person has to fill out a waiver form explaining any injuries or medical issues that might make it difficult to participate in the program.
