It is a tremendous blessing and an opportunity to have the privilege to teach the members of your friends and your family. I find joy in helping them find joy in music.
Voice lessons and piano are provided in the studio, as well as an extensive program in music theory and improvisation.
Kristin also provides tutoring sessions in different subjects for students who want to do better in school (history, literature, math, science, spelling, writing and more).
Mission Statement and Teaching Philosophy
To share my love for music with them, encourage my students, and guide students develop joy and diligence at their instrument, and the amazing skills that will continue into every aspect of life, while providing them with a gentle, joyful, and peaceful approach to studying music.
I strive to deliver a great musical education for each student, and I take great care to get ready for each lesson individually on a student-by-student basis.
I practice what I teach, while encouraging my students to achieve their personal goals.

Kristin is a wonderful teacher! She is kind and encouraging. Even when I make mistakes, she doesn't laugh, but instead helps me fix them non-confrontationally. She conducts herself with professionalism and is very organized. Her love for teaching shows in everything she does and her dedication to her students is a testimony to her love for music.

Kristin's website clearly shows that 'simple is better'. I've noticed many sites where the designer spent more time on the 'look and feel' rather than the content. While the site doesn't have any fancy animations or effects, it's still pleasing to the eye, and finding the information you need is extremely easy. Kristin displays an incredible amount of enthusiasm and passion for what she does; and not many "older" teachers have that. Young people are certainly lucky and blessed to have her for a teacher.

Kristin is an awesome pianist. She has been playing for many years and is very skillful and artful at playing. She composes her own music, writes her own songs, and is very good at it. She is respected by many, she is determined, reliable, kind, considerate, organized, and friendly. Kristin has been serving God for many years with her piano, literally touching many people's hearts with her music. It is definitely a good investment to have her teach you or your family.

I find Kristin to be highly organized and accomplished. She has a wonderfully positive attitude and is the perfect teacher for all ages of people – particularly those of us “over 60”!

A. Students are not only given thorough & planned music lessons... they have the individual attention they deserve. They have the option to permanently record their hard work for family & friends to enjoy for years to come using the equipment in the studio. Many extra features are provided for music students at NO additional cost, including music online games, recitals, and books to borrow. I seek to give the best quality lessons, while keeping it light-hearted & challenging. The studio is beautiful, well-lit, and ready to welcome you! :)
A. When I was really young, I would teach my neighborhood friends and my brother the skills I had learned on the piano. After those went relatively well, when I was 14, my dad suggested I try teaching music lessons for income. I started with two young students, and it sky-rocketed from there. I've been teaching ever since - and love it!
A. Absolutely. :) In addition to continuing my own private lessons, I belong to the MTNA & OMTA (national & local music teacher's association chapters).
I also regularly interact through email with expert teachers from around the country on a variety of issues, ranging from ideas on how to help a particular kind of student to policies and organizing the workspace. I regularly subscribe & study periodicals in my field, and am an avid benefactor of the local library. :)
My job is my career, but it is also the most rewarding hobby I could imagine! I recommend everyone who works a job of any kind, find a way to immerse oneself in it and become the best one can be at it.
