Brian is a well-known and respected drum/percussion instructor in the Portland/Clackamas/Happy Valley area. He offers over 40 years of experience, along with over 14 years of teaching. From playing in various bands to competitions and drumline he has done it all.

Brian teaches rudimental snare and drumset. He will tailor each lesson to that particular students skills and interests.Students are encouraged to bring music that interest them or that they are working on for band or competition.

Each student is taught how to read and play basic drum rhythms on the snare drum. Once the student has achieved the goals set for them on the snare drum, they will begin learning how to play the drum set. On the drum set, the student will learn the basics of coordination between hands and feet along with proper sticking techniques. Students will also be taught the 32 drum rudiments that are a requirement for drum proficiency.

Brian teaches in his home studio Monday-Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. He has 30 min. lessons and 60 min. lesson time slots available. Lesson are given once a week.

The rate for lessons are $65.00 per month for 30-min. lessons and $105.00 per month for 60-min. lessons.

A. I emphasize technique, reading and rudiments along with ear training. Everything a student needs to become a strong and confident drummer.

A. Watching student progress and achieve their goals in music.

A. My ability to teach and demonstrate rudiments has produced students that excel on drumline and place in the top three in competitions. What I teach and how I teach have produced results.
